  • Lessons Learned So Far.

Throughout my learning experience, I’ve learned that patience and having grit are very important in web development. Things don’t always work the first time, and fixing problems is part of the process.

During the fall semester, I had a baby during finals, but I continued pushing forward with my work. This experience taught me to slow down, ask for help, and learn from my mistakes. Each challenge has made me more confident and motivated to keep building my skills in technology.

  • What I’m Learning in WordPress.

WordPress has been a key part of my web development learning. In my classes, I’ve learned how to build and manage pages, customize themes, and set up site navigation.

I’ve also learned how plugins add features to a website and how child themes let you make changes without altering the main theme. Using WordPress has helped me see how design, content, and features work together to create easy-to-use websites.

  • Starting My Journey in Web Development.

Beginning my journey, learning new tools, and putting them into practice has been both exciting and challenging. I previously served in the United States Air Force, where my job title was Vehicle Logistics, so moving into this field is on the opposite side of the spectrum.

One day, while surfing the web, I found myself thinking that technology is far too advanced for websites not to be user-friendly. That realization sparked my interest in web development. Although this path is very different from my military background, it is also where I face some of my biggest challenges. At the same time, the journey has been incredibly rewarding.

I began furthering my education in the Spring of 2024 at South Mountain Community College, where I started building the foundation for my career in technology.

  • Critically Acclaimed Reviews from the Couch!

Even if you weren’t a big “movie” watcher before the pandemic..you were definitely one after. As a collective our love for movies grew, and that love comes with criticism. I find myself saying things like “The cinematography was beautiful”, or “She was meant for that role”, without actually knowing the process of creating film. For example, I love the movie Inception for a few reasons.

    • The film was full of suspense and thrill with sci-fi undertones.
    • The subject is relatable everyone dreams. I dream every night so I really loved that.
    • The graphics were pretty cool, and keep you engaged in the film

Below is the trailer for Inception!

With the main purpose of this site being tech related I feel it like it is very important to stay in touch with my human side. I’d also like to showcase who I am beyond technical skills especially while I am building my social network.

  • The Tech Industry and AI!

Am I seeking a pointless degree?!

I’d like to state that this is simply my opinion. I am excited to break into the tech world, but I often wonder will there be a place for me. AI is getting bigger, faster, and stronger than ever. Tons of companies are leaning into as well. Everyone has an AI assistant on their webpage even small companies. I think about if I am learning the right things or they even be relevant once I graduate.

Listed below are a few disadvantages of AI in the Tech Industry.

    • Data privacy.
    • Disinformation
    • Job displacement
    • AI bias
